In 2-step verification, Google sends you a code to your registered mobile phone. Once 2-step verification is activated –for login you would need to enter your password as well as the code you received on phone. You can mark your personal computer as a “trusted” computer. On trusted computers you would need to enter code only once in 30 days. So, for 30 days you will be able to log into your Google account just by entering your password. After 30 days, Google will ask you the code –you give it the code and then login only with password for next 30 days. However, on another computer, the person who would try to login to you Google account will have to enter both password and code. So, even if someone has hacked or guessed your password –the person would still not be able to login. To activate 2-step verification, go to your Google account settings.
