To upgrade to the latest version of Google Chrome, you can follow the method given below, or use one of the direct download links in this post. Let us remind you that Google switched from a 6-week release cycle to a 4-week release cycle. Meaning, a newer version of Google Chrome will be released to the public every 4 weeks. The announcement was made back in March 2021. This approach will keep users more protected than before, allowing the Chrome browser to update its security patch quicker. However, not every release upgrades the browser’s primary build. Installing this version of Chrome will upgrade your build to 95.0.4638.54. A total of 19 vulnerabilities have been addressed with this release, out of which 5 are deemed to be of high priority. Let us now show you how you can upgrade your current Google Chrome to version 95, or install it from scratch. There are a few different methods that can be used to update your Chrome browser to the latest version, including:

What’s new in Chrome 95
Save grouped tabs
You can group different tabs using the Tab Grouping feature that was introduced back in Chrome version 83. In Chrome 95, Google has taken the feature a step further by allowing the users to save their grouped tabs in case you close them. This way, you will not need to re-open each tab individually each time you launch the Chrome browser. This feature needs to be manually enabled after upgrading to Chrome 95. To do so paste the following in the address bar and hit Enter. Now select Enabled from the drop-down menu in front of “Tab Groups Save” and then click Relaunch at the bottom-right corner of the browser. When the browser relaunches, you can save a group when creating it by switching the slider in front of Save group to the on position, as in the image below:
Improved security for online payment options
Chrome 95 has not only made online transactions via debit/credit cards more secure, but more convenient as well. Users will now need to provide authentication when making an online payment. The authentication method can also be biometric verification (if your device supports it).
Web apps as default apps
Online web applications can now register themselves as native applications – as if they were installed on your computer. This is done through the process of URL Handlers where the web apps can handle the incoming URLs to execute the command like a native application.
EyeDropper for web apps
Chrome 95 brings in a new EyeDropper Application Programming Interface (API). You can use this tool to select a color directly from an image. Although this feature is a part of the Dev Tools for Chrome 95, it is still worth mentioning as our developer readers can benefit from this new improvement.
New features in DevTools
Here is a full list of new features and improvements made to the Dev Tools in Chrome 95 which may excite some of Chrome’s audience. Here are some insights:

Verdict
Although Google Chrome 95 brings in new features and improvements, we think that users can do without these features for now, as they might not be as significant as the innovation Google has introduced with the previous builds. Regardless, we still suggest our readers that you update to Chrome 95 as it fixes several security vulnerabilities that can be exploited by an attacker on the web.
