Not very long ago, Facebook used to have a length limitation on status updates. Status updates were allowed to have only up to 420 characters. But that is no longer the case, now Facebook has removed this limit and people are making much bigger status updates. However, there has been no such length limitation on comments. You can write really big comments on status/photos/links from your friends. Many people, however, find that writing lots of words in one chunk of text makes it hard to be read by friend. To get around this problem you want to insert line breaks. But as soon as you press ENTER key to give line break –the comment gets posted! The solution to this problem is SHIFT key. While writing your long comment, when you want to give one or more than one line breaks –just press SHIFT key, hold it, and then press ENTER. This way the comment won’t get posted. Instead, you will see that a line break has been added and your comment has divided in nicely paragraphed chunks of texts. When you are done with writing –just press ENTER (without holding SHIFT key) to post the comment. I hope this tip was useful for you. Please let me know if you have any questions on this topic. I will be happy to try and answer. Thank you for using TechWelkin! “Enter for Line Break” is still an option in Facebook but available only in Inbox. While commenting on a status -you need to either write running text or use SHIFT key for line breaks. Comment * Name * Email * Website
